Job Overview: Are you naturally good with technology and eager to launch a career in IT? Under the direction of the Service Director, the Computer Prep Technician is a great starting point into the world of IT. As part of our Professional Services Team, you'll help prepare computer systems for our clients by learning how to configure, test, and deploy hardware and software. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with computers, and is motivated to grow in a tech-focused environment.


Essential Functions

• Computer Setup and Configuration:
o Learn to assemble and configure desktops, laptops, and workstations.
o Install operating systems and software under guidance.
o Follow basic security practices such as installing antivirus software.
• Support and Troubleshooting:
o Assist with identifying and resolving hardware and software issues.
o Provide basic technical support to users.
o Collaborate with the Help Desk and senior technicians.
• Quality Checks and Documentation:
o Help test and ensure systems function as expected.
o Keep simple documentation on setup steps and any problems encountered.
• Inventory and Equipment Management:
o Track hardware and software inventory.
o Support restocking and organizing equipment.
• Client Service and Team Collaboration:
o Work with internal teams and occasionally support client visits.
o Provide friendly, professional service to both clients and coworkers.
• Learning and Development:
o Stay curious about emerging technologies.
o Take initiative to learn from experienced IT professionals and on-the-job training.
• Adherence to Policies:
o Follow company policies and procedures for data security, confidentiality, and client service delivery.

Qualifications
• Any hands-on experience with computers (home, school, hobbyist, etc.).
• Entry-level IT coursework or certifications (CompTIA A+, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Resourceful - the ability to figure things out.
• High attention to detail.
• Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and team-oriented behavior; have mutual respect for management and team members; partner with others to create an exceptional experience for each and every client.

Physical Requirements
- Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
- Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly with clients in person and over the telephone.
- Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed
sources and computer screens.
- Other: Requires occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted.
Requires frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements (specifically keyboarding
and writing), standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling
exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
