Qualifications 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in the construction industry Strong experience with construction job cost accounting, WIP, and % of completion methods Must have managerial experience Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or any other related field of study (CPA a plus!) Description + Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. + Support the Controller in preparing accurate and timely financial statements and reports. + Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. + Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support management decision-making. + Oversee the reconciliation of bank accounts and monitor cash flow. + Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure accurate project cost accounting and reporting. + Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets. + Manage the preparation of audit work papers and coordinate with external auditors during annual audits. + Provide support in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. + Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems. + Mentor and train accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed. + Perform financial analysis and reporting as requested by senior management.
