Are you in?Primary Purpose:
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Provide inspection, location and electronic documentation of excavation activity in proximity to PECO Energy underground facilities to assure compliance with Federal Standard for Gas and Electric Damage Prevention Program, and PA One Call laws. Educate excavators and the general public about PA One Call Law and PECO Energy Underground Construction Standards. Audit and document field conditions ensuring the proper identification of underground facilities. Communicate and interface with other PECO Operations groups as necessary to ensure the safety of general public and PECO facilities. Properly identify the location of PECO's underground plant using a variety of tools.
Primary Duties:
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES - Ability to work independently, prioritize and schedule work.
- Function as the subject matter expert on safe excavation activity and represent PECO at Pa One Call events and pre-excavation meetings.
- Ensure compliance with PECO Policies, Procedures, Standards and the Safety Rule Book.
- Ability to complete a conclusive report in electronic format and interpret PECO maps.
- Ability to work overtime or extended shifts as required based on business need.
- Ability to hand dig and perform tasks as required.
- Ability to safely operate a PECO vehicle.
- Ability to work across the entire PECO service territory.
- The ability to report directly to the job site for start of shift and quit on site at shift end.
Job Scope:
JOB SCOPE Minimum Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - 10 years' experience with natural gas or electric distribution or transmission construction
- Proficient with PC applications including Word, Excel, Get Map, Byers View Station, e-mail, GT Viewer and Bentley Red Line.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- To be/or have the ability to become, Gas Operator Qualified and qualified in all areas required to perform the tasks.
- Knowledge of safe and prudent excavation practices.
- Experience with locating PECO Energy underground gas and electric facilities.
- Work across the entire PECO Energy Service Territory including Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Bucks, Philadelphia and York Counties
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Qualified to repair � and 1" services
- Qualified to relight a gas customer
- Function as a leader when working in ambiguous situations with excavator
- Experience with Locating and Damage Prevention

Benefits - Hourly rates will be paid in accordance with terms of the candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience or collective bargaining agreement: $57.28/Hr.
