Job Description

LabCorp is seeking a Per Diem Testing Clerk to join our team in Raritan, NJ. This position will be responsible for preparing and sending specimens and test requests to LabCorp and/or contracted reference laboratory for testing, as well as releasing referral test results into the computer system.

**Pay Range: $16-$19/hr.

All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

This is a per diem position between the hours of Monday - Saturday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (up to 20/hrs. per week).

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Communicate effectively interdepartmentally, as well as with client office staff and Reference Labs
• Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and specimen problems
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack, ship, and process specimens to be sent out to additional facilities
• Perform sample sorting, racking and retrieving
• Prepare record logs in a timely and efficient manner
• Scrub requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and missing items are updated
• Do spinning/freezing/splitting and other special services as needed based on client

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1-year relative experience preferred (lab/accessioning, production/manufacturing/warehouse environment)
• Previous medical or patient facing healthcare experience is a plus
• Must be courteous with strong customer service orientation
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Experience working in a team environment
• Flexibility and the ability to manage and adapt to changing priorities quickly
• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Office
• Ability to lift - up to 40lbs.
• Ability to withstand extended periods of time in walk in coolers and freezer
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Must pass a standardized color-blind test
• Ideal candidate is available specifically on Mondays and Saturdays as well as additional weekdays.
