Summary

Operates John Deere tractors, heavy farm equipment and potato harvest implements to accomplish field work and various assigned farming tasks by performing the following duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in daily farm operations
• Operates tractors and potato harvesters
• Operates tractors to plow, plant, disc, and cultivate farm ground
• Performs light maintenance on equipment such as replenishing fuel, checking oil levels, etc.; ensures equipment is serviced in a timely manner by mechanics.
• Collaborate with farm team daily
• Other duties may be assigned.

Experience

• 1+ seasons of potato harvester operation loading trucks in the field required
• Previous experience operating John Deere tractors is a plus
• Previous experience operating John Deere GPS is a plus
• Knowledge of Spudnik and Double L Diggers is a plus 

Language Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for collaborating with team members.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred. 

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Additional Requirements

• Must be a licensed driver of single axle vehicles.
• Ability to do basic maintenance is a plus
