Working closely with our colleagues at Bad Robot Productions, our projects unite our extensive network of games, TV, and film industry talent to create original IPs, expansive worlds and tell new stories across all media platforms which are as fun to watch as they are to play.
Bad Robot Games is seeking a Senior Animator who is passionate about bringing a diverse range of characters to life through high-quality, believable, and engaging movement and performances, with a strong focus on gameplay animation.
A demo reel is required to apply. Ideally, the reel displays a deep understanding of animation principles, body mechanics, and grounded physicality. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Match the style and bar for animation on the project through the delivery of high-quality gameplay animation (both keyframed and mocap based)
- Effectively collaborates with discipline partners, such as Design, Tech Art, Characters, and Engineering, to help ensure delivery of the animation direction on the project while being efficient, technically sound, and, most importantly, fun to watch and play!
- Works closely and communicates effectively with cross-disciplinary teams
- Works with Lead Animator, other Senior Animators, Tech Animation, and Engineering to assist with prototype animation systems, state machines, and blend trees
- Keeps up to date with the latest animation tools, technologies, and techniques
- Participate in playtesting and providing "hands on" feedback as the project progresses
KEY QUALIFICATIONS - 5+ years' experience in the games industry as an animator, or equivalent work in a related field, with at least one title shipped as an Animator
- Strong Self-motivated, solid work ethic, and ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively
- Creativity in problem-solving and the ability to think outside of the established solutions
- Advanced skills in discipline-related software - Maya, Perforce, etc.
- Experience editing and animating on top of motion capture data
- Great time management and remote work etiquette
- Experience with game animation implementation into Unreal
- Experience and knowledge of Unreal Engine animation systems
BONUSES - Experience in a secondary area such as rigging and modeling
- Experience working on a live service game
- Experience with AnimBot
Annual Salary Range: $108,500 - $113,500
Our ranges are based on California market rate regardless of work location in the US.
