Position Summary

TechSmart is seeking a creative and dynamic Video Content Creator specializing in short-form video (TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels) to join our innovative team. This is a unique opportunity to build and lead our video strategy from the ground up, beginning with our new 'Foundations in AI' courses. You will be responsible for developing a robust video creation pipeline and producing a high volume of fun, engaging, and educational videos that resonate with high school students, making complex AI concepts and prompt engineering accessible and exciting.

You will work closely with our Product and Curriculum teams to translate learning objectives and course content into compelling video narratives. The ideal candidate is a native short-form video storyteller, deeply understands youth online culture, and is passionate about creating content that not only entertains but also educates. There is also potential for this role to expand to oversee and manage additional contracted influencers and video creators.

Responsibilities

• Content Creation & Production: Conceptualize, script, shoot, edit, and publish a high volume of engaging videos targeting a high school audience on our learning platform.
• Video Pipeline Development: Design, implement, and manage an efficient video creation pipeline to ensure a consistent flow of high-quality content.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Product and Curriculum teams to understand learning objectives, develop video concepts, write and refine scripts, and ensure content accuracy and educational value.
• Trend Monitoring & Innovation: Stay ahead of the curve on video trends, best practices, emerging formats, and youth online behavior to ensure our content remains fresh, relevant, and engaging.
• Brand Voice & Style: Develop and maintain a consistent, engaging, and youth-friendly brand voice and visual style across video content that aligns with TechSmart's mission.
• Asset Management: Organize and maintain a library of video assets.
• Team Leadership: Oversee and manage additional contracted video creators or influencers to scale content production while maintaining quality and brand consistency.

Qualifications

Experience

• Proven Experience: Demonstrable experience creating successful and engaging short-form video content for platforms like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels. A strong portfolio showcasing your work is required.
• Video Production Skills: Proficiency in all aspects of short-form video production, including ideation, scripting, filming (mobile or camera), lighting, audio recording, and editing using tools like CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar.
• Youth Audience Expert: Deep understanding of what resonates with a high school audience, current social media trends, and how to create content that feels authentic and familiar to them.
• Creative Storyteller: Ability to translate educational or complex topics into simple, fun, and captivating short-form video narratives.
• Self-Starter & Pipeline Builder: Experience or strong aptitude for building and managing content creation workflows and pipelines.
• Collaborative Spirit: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Organized & Detail-Oriented: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Passion for Impact: A genuine interest in education and empowering students with future-ready skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience creating educational content, particularly for a youth audience.
• Basic understanding of or keen interest in Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, or prompt engineering concepts.
• Experience with Python or other coding languages is a plus but not required.
• Experience managing or coordinating with other content creators or influencers.
• Graphic design or animation skills.
